RETAINER AND PAYMENT POLICY

RETAINER AND PAYMENT AGREEMENT

It is the policy of this Law Office to request an initial retainer for legal services and costs and to request additional retainer funds, if needed, to be held in our Client Trust Account and applied to legal fees as earned and costs of suit, if any, as required.  It is the further policy of this office that clients will be billed on a monthly basis, and payment for any balance due is required within thirty (30) days.

It is understood and agreed between the Attorney and the Client that the Attorney will charge for her/his services and the Client will pay for said services at the rate of $__________ per hour.  The initial retainer requested in this case is $__________.

The Attorney reserves the right to withdraw from, and to terminate representation of, the Client in the event Client fails to deposit requested retainer funds within fifteen (15) days of Attorney’s request, or otherwise fails to pay for Attorney’s services and/or for costs within thirty (30) days of billing, pursuant to the terms of this Agreement, provided that any such withdrawal or termination of services shall be in full compliance with the Maine Bar Rules.

The Client agrees to the above terms and acknowledges that same have been explained to him/her this day and that the Client fully understands said terms.
